The Covid-19 lockdown came to Spain the second week of March, 2020. The streets of the once bustling, pedestrian-friendly city of Valencia came to a screeching halt as individuals were mandated to stay in their homes at all times other than one-person trips to the grocery store.

The final night before the mandate was put in place, we waited out the news at dinner with friends who all had plans to return their families in their home countries to ride out the wave… little did we know.
